A music-business saga across three decades
Set in the Korean entertainment industry from the 1960s to the 1980s, Tantara follows Min-ja (Song Hye-kyo), who survives an impoverished childhood and enters the music business, and Dong-gu (Gong Yoo), the childhood friend who fights beside her to protect her dreams. Kim Seol-hyun plays Min-hui, a bold singer who becomes their first artist, and Cha Seung-won plays Seok Gil-yeo, the era's top hitmaker.
The series pairs writer Noh Hee-gyoung (Our Blues, It's Okay, That's Love) with director Lee Yoon-jung (The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince). Some Korean outlets translate the Korean title as Slowly, Intensely; Netflix's English title is Tantara.
