Release schedule
Netflix has officially confirmed that The Scandal premieres on September 18, 2026. The announcement came through Netflix's own press materials in late August, and Korean outlets including The Korea Times reported the same date. All eight episodes of the limited series arrive on the same day, so the whole story can be binged in one weekend.
India time conversion
Netflix releases its original series at midnight Pacific Time, which converts to 12:30 PM IST. So Indian viewers should see The Scandal appear in their Netflix library by early afternoon on Friday, September 18. If it does not show up right away, refreshing the app or searching the title directly usually helps.
Where to watch legally
The Scandal is a Netflix original series and streams exclusively on Netflix, including in India. There is no TV broadcast or second platform for this title.
What to expect
The Scandal is a period romance drama adapted from the 2003 Korean film Untold Scandal, which itself reworked the classic French novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses into the Joseon era. Son Ye-jin and Ji Chang-wook lead the cast, with Nana also starring. The story follows two aristocrats who treat seduction as a game of wagers, until genuine feelings start to complicate their schemes. Expect lavish costumes, sharp dialogue and a slow-burn battle of pride and desire rather than a light rom-com.
